Within the heart of the Conservation Area of Probus village you will find Waterlily Cottage. This spacious 200 year old granite cottage has a fresh coastal décor, each room complimented with high quality furnishings.
We aim to provide you with a relaxing Cornish homely feel, and equip the cottage accordingly. We have been rated 4 star by the Cornish Tourist Board and are delighted to have been awarded as one of ‘Sawday’s Special Places to Stay’ in Cornwall as part of their Ethical collection and their Family Friendly selection.
Near neighbour to the cottage is the romantic 15th century church of St Probus and St Cuthbert, this magnificent church boasts the highest bell tower in Cornwall.
In the spacious open-plan lounge you will find the original cottage beams, granite fireplace, and an oak staircase; sink into the two sumptuous sofas and relax!
The kitchen/diner has oodles of space to enjoy a family meal.
The bright and fresh master bedroom has a king size bed, luggage shelves, wardrobe, and plenty of space for a travel cot (supplied on request). All bedrooms have black out curtains too, so you can enjoy a nice long snooze.
Downstairs adjoining the conservatory is a handy WC and double-size shower. An electric towel rail ensures your towels are warm and snug.
Leading from the kitchen, a charming conservatory awaits. The conservatory catches the afternoon sun, perfect to enjoy a Cornish Cream Tea whilst relaxing in the rocking chair!
To the rear you will find a pretty courtyard garden. On a Sunday morning the church bells mingle with bird song – pure delight. The private garden has a BBQ, patio dining table and chairs and deckchairs.
There is plenty of parking along Chapel Street (where the cottage is located). You are quite likely to be able to park almost outside the cottage, but you may find that later in the day you will be parking further down the street, past the village school. This is a 2 minute stroll back to the cottage.
The cottage has full gas central heating, with radiators in each room (including the conservatory) served by an energy efficient combi-boiler, providing unlimited hot water on demand.
Your laundry needs are provided for with a washing machine, laundry bag, clothes airer (conservatory is ideal for drying), ironing board and iron. There’s clothes pegs too if you wish to put the airer into the garden.
We can provide a travel cot (plenty of space for this in the main bedroom), child’s riser seat, Mamas & Papas reclining highchair, and/or toilet step-up, please let us know if any of this equipment would help and we will ensure it is in the cottage on your arrival.
